Gudvangen Fjordtell is a hotel and a perfect base for exploring all year around many sights and activities available in the beautiful county of Sogn og Fjordane during all year around. Gudvangen is an old Viking village with a lot character and a myriad of adventures waiting to be discovered, from the Nærøyfjord, which is part of UNESCO’s World Heritage list, to a multitude of attractions for all ages and preferences.

Gudvangen À la carte restaurant (KONGSHALLEN)
Our restaurant is dedicated to bring you the freshest and most delicious experience. We use only the finest quality ingredients to ensure that every bite is bursting with flavour. With a wide selection of starters and desserts from the buffet and main course from the menu, you can mix and match to create the perfect meal.
À la carte restaurant is open between 19:00 pm and 21:30 pm.
Gudvangen Seafood restaurant (SJØMATRESTAURANTEN)
Gudvangen seafood restaurant is situated right by the fjord under heated glass pavillion with spectacular views of the fjord, mountains and passing boats.
We use innovative culinary techniques and genuine passion for seafood in order to highlight the fantastic taste of it.
From the traditional fish soup, steamed mussels to our staple seafood platter - excellent to share.
Seafood restaurant is open between 15:00 pm and 21:30 pm. every day.
Cafeteria at Gudvangen Fjordtell (LUNSJEN KAFE)
Cafeteria with indoor and outdoor seating is open from 10.00 am to 18.00 pm every day. Here You can stop in for a quick lunch at our patio with one of the most beautiful landscape in Sognefjord area and enjoy an espresso, fresh-baked muffin, quick meal on your way to explore the area.
VIKING VEIKRO GUDVANGEN
Viking Veikro is situated in a visitor center to the Viking Village in Gudvangen and it is open between 11.00 am and 18.00 pm every day.
Viking Veikro offers traditional Norwegian dishes, homemade hamburgers with local meat and spices and other dishes we invite You try.
CAFE GUDVANGEN (PIZZERIA, BAKERY AND COFFEE SHOP)
Café Gudvangen located on the banks of the fjord just next to the place where tourist ferries between Gudvangen – Flåm and Gudvangen – Kaupanger are docking.
Café Gudvangen is a warm and comfortable café with bakery and pizzeria that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner options –thin-crust pizza, fresh baked goods and sandwiches, local beer and coffee drinks.
Café Gudvangen is open between 10:00 am and 18:00 pm.
BUFFET RESTAURANT FOR GROUPS
Buffet restaurant in Gudvangen accomodates small and large groups for lunch, dinner, drinks and meetings. Guests serve themselves from different stations featuring appetizers, salad bar, hot items or desserts. Menu is regularly changed to keep things new and fresh. Bookings requires min 25 people for a group and it must be booked in advance.

VIKING VILLAGE
The Viking village is a place for memorable experiences, learning and fun activities. A place where you can interact with people re-enacting the past, all in accordance to historical elements.
A lot of activities and experiences are prepared for children and adults. The visitors are involved into the world of Vikings, experiencing fighting, archery, theatre, concerts, storytelling,historical ballgames, Viking wrestling and other animations.
Join in an exciting and incredible journey that will take you back over a thousand years in time! The Viking Village in Gudvangen is a perfect place to spend a day with the whole family!
Tourist ferries
Fjord cruises in unique setting, with sheer, snow-topped mountains, waterfalls and idyllic farms clinging to the mountainsides. This is an opportunity to experience the incredible Nærøyfjord which is one of two fjords in Norway in the UNESCO world heritage list. A passenger boat between Gudvangen-Aurland-Flåm is running all year around.
Ferry between Gudvangen - Kaupanger is running between 15 June - 31 August.

Kayaking in Gudvangen

Hiking in the mountains
Gudvangen is a good starting point for several mountain hikes, and in some places you can get all the way to the mountain edge and see straight down the fjord from an altitude of approximately 1000 meters. The famous mountains of Rimstigen, Bakkanosi and Breiskrednosi are just a few of Fjord Norway’s most popular hikes – and they are all big adventures. But you’ll also find numerous shorter and gentler paths perfect for families with children or anyone who simply prefer to take it easy.

Undredal
Undredal is a small valley 15 minutes drive from Gudvangen. Up until 1988 you could only get to Undredal by ferry, but now there is a good road connection. In Undredal you can visit the smallest stave church in Norway, and the famous Undredal Stølysteri where local cheese is produced. Every year people in Undredal have their own festival called Geitostfestivalen (the goat cheese festival).
